Even the littlest helpers can get in on the action! Here's a fun, simple checklist to hand over so you can (maybe) get a few things done while they “tidy.”

Preschool–Kindergarten:

• Match socks from the laundry pile
• Put stuffed animals into a bin
• Wipe baseboards with a sock on their hand (it’s a game!)
• Choose 3 toys they don’t play with to “find a new home”

Elementary Age:

• Sort books they’ve outgrown
• Organize their art supplies
• Help fold and sort laundry
• Declutter their backpack
• Wipe down doorknobs/light switches

Tweens/Teens:

• Go through clothing and pull items they don’t wear
• Clean out under the bed (beware!)
• Organize tech/gaming supplies
• Help create donation piles
• Take the trash and recycling out from their room

Let’s be honest—most kids don’t want to clean. But here are a few tricks to help them get in the groove:
