Our family is no stranger to SimplyFun games. We have played several of them in the past so we knew "High Tail It" would be a fun family game. This 4 player game is usually for ages 10 and up, but with some help my 6 year old was able to play with us. During this specific game the kids will learn tactical planning, problem solving and spatial reasoning while trying to get all 5 kangaroo figures around the board and back across the river.

The player with the best Australian accent gets to start the game which is a cute way to begin vs. rolling the dice like most games. After the first player goes, game play moves clockwise with each player moving one of their kangaroos. In High Tail It, players can move their kangaroos by walking or jumping them as well as a few additional rules about jumping, so learning how the 'roos move is very important and may take a little bit of practice. The lone brown kangaroo is the "referee" and has his/her own set of moves that came be made.

All in all, High Tail It was fun but can require so patience and playing a few times to full understand the game play. The game will take about 30 minutes to play which is perfect for most kids.
