Giveaway: Quassy Amusement Park Family Four Pack

July 8, 2014

Quassy

2132 Middlebury Road, Route 64

Middlebury, CT

Located on the shores of Lake Quassapaug

If you have never been to Quassy, or it has been sometime since you have gone, get it on your summer bucket list of places to visit! Only 35 minutes from the Carmel area, it's worth the drive and admission in my opinion is a great value. You not only can get access to the amusement park, but also the water park. We just recently during our visit on 6/29 went into the water park for the first time. Simply because it had been to cold on our other visits for water rides.  There is even a smaller splash pad area for kids under 48 inches. Warren had a blast there, while the bigger kids did the water slides. The two area are separated by a small fence, so you little ones can't run into the larger section which I really liked but I was still able to see the older kids. It's a very manageable water park, I did it alone with 3 kids with no problems. After we had dried off and moved to the dry rides, my 11 year old said " I love Quassy even more with the water park option!" He has asked 3 times in the last week if we can go back this week. Good thing we have season passes!

Have children ranging from 20-15 months can sometimes make amusement park trips stressful. Someone isn't going to be able to ride something (or many things) and will not be a happy camper. When we visit Quassy, I really don't feel that way. There are rides for everyone. Nathaniel at 5 can ride almost every ride in the park. Yes a few are with an adult, but he loves the Wooden Warrior, and rides it at least a dozen times every visit. We can hit just about every ride even on a busy day in about 3 hours. Just enough time before the kids are getting tired and ready to head home.

I also like that you can bring in your own picnic lunch or dinner. Park food can be a little expensive and having the option of bringing your own if a bonus. We usually pack snacks and water bottles and will buy one treat while at the park. There is also a pay to play arcade, boat ride and paddle boats to rent. Every should be able to find something they really like at Quassy.

Quassy can also host a birthday party, corporate function complete with food, sport team parties etc. You name it, they can help with it! Years ago my husband and I attended a company picnic at Quassy and it was awesome. Lots of food, drinks and admission to the park. I remember it being a really fun day and that was before the kids.

Season passes are on sale now (only $250 for a family of four!!) at the park office and through the Quassy Web site at www.quassy.com. Company picnics, school fieldtrips and other catered events are also being scheduled through the park office at 203-758-2913.
