Our family is no stranger to Gerber products so when we were chosen to review their cereals we were delighted. My daughter Adyson just turned 8 months and we have slowly been starting some solids. We did try earlier (around 6 months) and she just was not interested so we didn't rush it since I know she would eventually get the hang of it. Doctors and parents alike agree that breast milk or infant formula is the main source of nutrition for the first roughly 6 months of a baby’s life and in fact remains an important contributor to nutrition during the first year.

The cereals we have been trying out over the last week or so are; Gerber Oatmeal Cereal a single grain cereal which is a perfect first cereal to start with. Gerber Oatmeal and Banana Cereal which Adyson really mixed with breast milk. Next we tried Lil' Bits Oatmeal Banana and Strawberry, this was a huge hit with not only Adyson but my 2 year old who LOVES to try anything his sister is eating. Lastly is the Hearty Bits Banana Apple Strawberry. This multigrain cereal has nice little chunks to help babies learning to chew. Adyson didn't enjoy this one as much as I thought she would but again my 2 year old can not get enough of it. She may be just a little to little for it yet which might be why she didn't like it as much. Each of the cereals were easy to mix with breast milk or pureed fruits and veggies. With the locking lid on the containers they are also pretty easy to travel with.

Gerber makes it easy to help you decide which cereal may be right for your child at their specific stage of development. Each product they have is clearly labeled with an icon "supported sitter", "sitter", "toddler" and so on. The icons are also are color coded to make selecting which is right for your child a snap at the store. Trust me when the kids are approaching melt down mode, I want to be able to see which product I want quickly and not have to spend precious minutes reading each and every package to see if its "right" for my child.

Gerber not only offers cereals but a full line of food to take your from infant to preschooler and any stage in between.  You can follow Gerber on their social media channels: Facebook, Instagram or YouTube. They also offer some great recipes online as well as coupons occasionally.
